Tom Ptasinski here, writing away on the pilot episode of L5. I hope you like what we’ve had to show you so far and if you did, I know you’re going to love what we have coming up. We’ll certainly keep you posted on any new updates and please feel free to spread the word about the project and, if you feel so inclined, make a donation.
I wanted to take a moment to talk about where we are right now in the development of L5.
Currently we are on our third draft of the script which has mostly involved scene polishing. The script itself is in its final form but you can never do enough polishes, you just have to be sure not to rub the finish off.
It’s incredible to think back that what began as a five minute, purely visual exploration of an O’Neil Colony has blossomed into a full-fledged homecoming story rife with mysteries. Starting with the biggest question of all, what happened at L5? I can't wait to share it with you.
I know for me it’s been a long journey of discovery and I feel a kinship with Cmdr. Richard Adams (our protag) and the rest of the crew aboard the Argo, since every twist and turn they’re going to encounter I had to experience myself in the writing process. One of the more challenging aspects of science fiction is not to become distracted by the allure of spaceships and silver jumpsuits. I know Stan and I have really stuck to what makes good science fiction and, frankly, good storytelling work – engaging ideas and fascinating characters. I’ll certainly introduce you to a few in the coming days, along with some story ideas, even old scenes that didn’t make the cut and why, and so much more.
Thank you so much for your support and prepare to be astonished!
